In rural northern Malawi, especially Ekwendeni, women are coming together to rise above poverty. Through the women's Self-Help Group (SHG) approach, women are building economic resilience, leadership skills and creating positive change from the ground up.

150 SHGs established and functioning accross our catchment area of Ekwendeni and Enukweni
65% of women in SHGs have developed IGAs and have operational enterprises
Over 300 SHGs women trained in financial literacy, small-scale enterprise development, including value addition, market identification, and leadership
97.93% (1661 of 1696) of women accessed credit and financial services from their own self-help group fund
