EHAP's Transformative ECD Interventions Through Community-Based Care Centres
Community-based child care centers (CBCCs) are preschools that provide early childhood education and care, particularly for children aged 3-6. The CBCC also better prepares them for primary school. These centers offer a range of benefits for children, including early learning opportunities, socialization, and a safe environment, while also strengthening the community through increased participation, resource mobilisation, and improved child development outcomes. 3294 (1534 boys, 1760 girls) children are attending CBCC in over 140 CBCC centres established by EHAP across established its catchment area.
The center management committees take a prior role in encouraging parents and the community members to support the children by providing maize and soybeans for porridge.
