Food support
Northern Malawi is no stranger to hardship. Every year, communities here face the harsh effects of cyclones, dry spells, and droughts. Most families rely on subsistence farming to survive, but with unpredictable weather and rising prices of farm inputs, such as fertilizer, growing enough food has become nearly impossible. A single bag of fertilizer now feels out of reach for many, leading to poor harvests and empty granaries. With support from our partners, EHAP provides food support in form of maize to families hit hardest. These include households caring for orphans, vulnerable children/child-headed families, and those living with or affected by HIV. It’s not just about handing out food. It’s about easing the weight of hunger when it hits hardest and helping families stay on their feet as we build toward long-term social and economic solutions.

With seven mouths to feed, this support came just in time. It gave us hope when we had none."
