Supplementary feed for undernourished children

Undernutrition remains a daily struggle for many children. With support from PWS&D, EHAP is responding by providing supplementary feeding support to children identified as undernourished, both at Ekwendeni Mission Hospital and in the surrounding villages. We provide Likuni Phala, a fortified, soy-based porridge, to help children regain their strength, grow well, and build stronger immunity. This support is especially critical for children under five, who are most at risk. Beyond feeding, we promote nutrition sustainability by encouraging the growing of soybeans at community-based childcare centres (CBCCs). This initiative helps improve daily meals for children attending CBCCs while empowering caregivers with knowledge and skills to grow and prepare nutrient-rich food.
